A Proposal

Greetings, residents.

I trust this finds you all in good health and positive spirits. I am a relatively new arrival to this place, having got to grips with the basics over the last few weeks. I am aware that a number of others have likewise arrived recently, hailing as I understand it from a variety of ages and locales. My companion and I, for our part, have found much to learn, and not a little to unlearn.

I recognise that this situation is rather an unusual one, and as such I take it upon myself to suggest that we – by which I mean the recently arrived – might find it of some benefit to work together to pool our knowledge. I am open to ideas on what this "pooling" may consist of, but at the very least we ought to convene face to face at some point to share what information we each have individually and contribute to a whole sum of wisdom.

Some of us may have arrived with more understanding of the technological advancements of this place, I accept, but we all have knowledge to share, and no knowledge is too small to be of benefit to the whole.

With sincere hope for your engagement,

Jack Rackham

I can help if you need it.
Depending on how many of us there are, the archive might get a little unwieldy.
Did you do this sort of thing back home?

All in your head?
That's a pretty fantastic memory, honestly.
But if you'd like any help keeping the information somewhere else, I used to work at a newspaper.
I know a little bit about organizing data and stories like that.

Can I ask how your home is so different?
I feel like everyone I've met has been from a pretty different place, but I'm only just learning by how much.

There is a point that even a great memory isn't always enough.

You're going to want to have a semi-regular place for people to submit their findings or information, too.
And then a system for people to search through and find what we've already connected.
If you didn't already have plans, I can start checking some of the stores around to see if there's anything that might work?

Oh, wow! Yeah! I bet this place is a little overwhelming!
I'm from New York, 2018.
So in some ways I do recognize a lot of this technology, but also this place is like nothing I've seen before.
