A Proposal

Greetings, residents.

I trust this finds you all in good health and positive spirits. I am a relatively new arrival to this place, having got to grips with the basics over the last few weeks. I am aware that a number of others have likewise arrived recently, hailing as I understand it from a variety of ages and locales. My companion and I, for our part, have found much to learn, and not a little to unlearn.

I recognise that this situation is rather an unusual one, and as such I take it upon myself to suggest that we – by which I mean the recently arrived – might find it of some benefit to work together to pool our knowledge. I am open to ideas on what this "pooling" may consist of, but at the very least we ought to convene face to face at some point to share what information we each have individually and contribute to a whole sum of wisdom.

Some of us may have arrived with more understanding of the technological advancements of this place, I accept, but we all have knowledge to share, and no knowledge is too small to be of benefit to the whole.

With sincere hope for your engagement,

Jack Rackham

[ Such a proposal from someone who seems well-spoken and open-minded is hardly something to balk at. G'raha very eagerly replies: ]

I am full glad that someone has voiced thoughts so close to mine own. The full breadth of the knowledge we come into this world with is yet unknown, but surely the myriad of thoughts and experiences we carry with us is an advantage we ought to take. Many thanks to you and your companion for broaching the subject.

For my part, I have experience with some similar technologies, to a point. What I am most curious about, however, is the nature of these diffusion zones and how they may relate to traveling across the rift.

Is there ought you and your companion have noticed, Mister Rackham?

Needless to say, if a time and place is decided upon, myself and likely my colleagues would be keen to attend.

Regards,

G'raha Tia

J.R.,

Indeed, though whether or not we can consider our sudden stewardship of them as a boon or not may yet be seen. I'm not entirely convinced they were offered without ulterior motive.

Two from my own star. We arrived at a similar time but not together, and with a bit of a timeline discrepancy between us.

[ Though he will not publicly say just how large that discrepancy is...because he is. Kind of keeping that a secret from said colleagues. For their own good! Whoops. ]

Did you experience something similar with your own friend?
